Update--Holiday--Exams

Hello everyone,

It is that time of year again where as much as I HATE it, my writing will have to sit in the middle of the bus to what I must do. Exams (dun dun dunnnnnnnnn!). I finished the first one today and wanted to take the night off to breathe before tackling the books for the second one which is on Tuesday but I've decided to make the rounds on my blogs and update.

First, I want to say that I will begin writing again on RUNT as soon as my exams are over which is next coming weekend but we both know that is when most of us (namely me) will be scrambling like a chicken with our heads cut off to find last minute shopping...Yes I have an excuse I live in a small town where the mall is so far away that most of us don't even bother going to it. It's surprising how they make any more because to get there you have to put away a whole day *sigh* but anyways, I am waiting until I head home.

So once things settle down around my home, namely Shopping, guests, presents, spend time with the Rents (parents), visit with the niece and all that good stuff, I shall begin writing again. I will say, around boxing day when everyone else is out chasing deals, I shall be burrowed underneath my blankets in my room writing furiously. I want to get up to chapter three before I head back to school. Blech...I always make goals like this and end up missing most of them.

Anyways, please enjoy your holidays, no matter what you celebrate. Love, laugh and hug someone you haven't hugged in a while. Tell someone you loved them that you haven't told in a while and please be safe. I know we say this every year, but if you drink DON'T drive. If you have to walk home or spend the night in a sleazy motel, do it. Anyways, Happy Holidays and I wish you prosperity, love and laughter in the new year.

Progress on Runt

Hey all,
So nano month rolled around and I had to stop writing on Runt to focus on Nano. I mean come on, I've been doing nano since 2005 and have yet to finish it once! This year I am aiming to do just that. Secondly, I had some issues with my hoster for my kendra site so I am busy creating a brand new site, rebranding and merging my Kendra with my Kadian. This helps me only have one website to deal with and cut down on the amount of updates I have to do. But right as Nano is over, I shall turn my attention back to RUNT!

Progress

Hello all,

So even though I am supposed to be on holidays, it's Canadian thanksgiving and my first reading week, I've decided to finish up the Prologue for RUNT. It is finished and so far we have two dead bodies lol. Now the word count is at 4,276 and I am hoping to write the first chapter perhaps tomorrow. It's slow writing this genre because I keep writing in the fashion that I would normally write a contemporary in and then have to delete whole sections to write it in paranormal speak. It's frustrating too but I am slowly getting it.

I am debating whether I should change his name from Ammon Nox to something else. It's two languages slapped together because I couldn't find a name that meant what I wanted it to mean that sounds like a name. I am still looking and names can be changed later before it's finished or submitted, right?

Also, I am gathering deep, sentimental quotes that Ammon will say. They won't be anything corny like "bring it on!" but they will be quotes that I hope people will say "woo....that was deep..." lol. So far I have three and am working on others. We will see what happens. I may even have a contest for it you never know. Anyways, I am going to get ready for my favorite new show "Castle" starring Serenity's Nathan Fillion. He is so dreameh!

The Beginning

So, This picture here at the top, is what Ammon Nox's work out spot looks like when he works out in the early morning with the sun. That hard thing in the background his is mansion - the one his father (the Priest) gave him. I am picking up these pictures all over town lol.

After washing some dishes in the next little while, I will begin the first set of writings on RUNT! It will be the prologue. I was gonna grab a glass of wine but it's Akiwaba from South Africa and boy is it strong. Took two sips the other night and was all a buzz so writing and sipping that is not a good idea. I wish the stores here carried XOXO because that's a nice smooth wine to write while sipping.

Anways, so I've done some research and well found that I can pretty much make up the rules when it came to Shifters but once I make them I have to stick with them, Consistency my dear Clarice lol. I am seriously still actually thinking of what race to make my beautiful Ammon Nox - not sure yet though. I guess it will come to me. I have the world created, his family tree completed I just have to figure out his race. It's a tad hard because since I named him after his destiny I assumed I could pretty much decide what race he would be by the seat of my pants right? Not so smart, but really, what am I gonna do right?

A friend of mine and I were trying to figure out if we would make this a series but I don't know. It's been rather hard trying to pin down a time to write since she is in a different time zone than I am. She's like three hours behind me and when I am on lately she's not and when she's on I'm not, or she's sick. It's been a strange few weeks at best.

Anyways, I best go get those dishes washed so I can begin.

Welcome to RUNT!

Hi and thank you for visiting RUNT OF THE PACK! aka RUNT. This blog will follow the progress of the novel Runt of the Pack until I am finished and it is accepted to a publisher. I have no idea where or when but I know thatI have this idea that's burning a hole in me and must be written.

The story "Runt of the Pack" will be about a wolf shifter left for dead as a child - why? Well I can't give away all the secrets now, can I? Let's just say the picture right there <--- is what I want the outside of his home to look like. Trees all around with vines growing on the outside of the large, old mansion. Now tomorrow, God willing (or as the muslims would say "inshallah") I shall try and take some more pictures of that building before winter comes and the leaves all turn brown and go away *pouts* I love it when the leaves turn brown but when they fall off the building looks naked lol. So the first thing to do is research right? But there's nothing on Wolf Shifters---hrm...Don't wanna write a werewolf for ovious reasons... Anyways I am off to research.
